Raised in a Norwegian household and competing in a sport rooted in Celtic heritage, they were cultures I longed to belong to, but never thought I truly did… until one day I took a DNA test and laughed at God’s sense of humor. I turned out to be all the things I admired but never believed I was — Norwegian, Welsh, Scottish, and Irish.
Claiming roots in the traditions I was raised in, the word Shieldmaiden became a title I embraced with pride.
