Our Team

  • Dawn Schull, President

Dawn is a proud Montana native who currently lives in Jacksonville. Since 2015, Dawn has been a Master Women’s thrower and has participated in competitions such as the Masters World Championships and the Arnold. She is a communications coordinator for her local government, focusing on web design, content creation, and digital ADA compliance. In addition to this, she works with event organizers to plan and promote Highland Games throughout Florida.

  • Thalia King, Treasurer

I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and I have been living in Wesley Chapel, Florida, for the past 26 years. I am a mother to three amazing children and a grandmother (YeaYa) to five beautiful grandchildren.

With 50 years of experience in the insurance industry, I have a strong passion for my work. I also love spending time outdoors, swimming, working in my yard, and caring for our Dachshund kennel while enjoying interactions with people.

  • Executive Secretary, Jade Sceusa

Jade has served in various roles for the last 8 years in Education; she is currently at the middle school level, working in early intervention and dropout prevention. Before that, she worked in Veterinary medicine as a Practice Manager. Since moving to the Tampa Bay area in 2006, she has been attending the RenFaire specifically for the Highland fling, because who doesn't love the caber toss? She started spectating at the Dunedin Highland Games in 2018; attending that game has been her birthday tradition since. Over the past year, she has become more involved in the sport, encouraging new athletes to throw, and volunteering where she can. Her son is a high school junior, soon to be an Officer in the Civil Air Patrol, and a newbie caber killer. With very high energy and enthusiasm, you will find her yelling and cheering for everyone on the field. She is passionate about service and was excited to join the team supporting positivity and growth.

  • Russell Overton, JR, Athletic Director

Russell is a Men's Master 40+ athlete, Navy vet, Doxie owner and breeder, and an electrician with 20+ years of experience. He competes in highland games in Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi, and runs the Bay Area Renaissance Festival games. Russell's job includes equipment transport and management, field setup/take down, and ensuring safety for athletes.

  • Becky Wissink

    Becky Wissink, Director at Large

I started throwing heavy objects in 1992, and haven’t stopped. PR’s were a long time ago, but getting out there every time is a PR in my book. We compete with each other instead of against each other. The highland games community is family, (be it dysfunctional at times).

Member of the Rocky Mountain Scottish Hall of Fame (Inducted 2011). Retired bilingual educator, past president of Denver Teachers Union, Director for Virginia Education Association, and Associate Director for Ed Policy and Practice at the National Education Association. Currently working on “honey-do” lists for family, friends, and the community.

My favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate fudge with ribbons of peanut butter.

  • Chad Davis, Director at Large

Chad has been involved with the Highland Games since 2003 — serving in just about every role you can imagine: athlete, judge, athletic director, scorekeeper, and resident gopher!

A proud father and husband, Chad lives in Georgia and works as a state employee. Above all, he loves his family, the Highland Games community, and giving back to the sport that has given him so much.

  • Ethan Albrecht Carrie, Business Director

Originally a native of Upstate New York, Ethan has been living in the Orlando area since 2016and recently relocated to Mt Dora with his wife (Cristy) and son (Xander, 7).  Ethan was a Decathlete in College and competed for the US Men’s Bobsled Team from 2006-2011.  He began throwing in the summer of 2022 and competes in the Men’s Master 40+ and in LW Divisions.

When not training and competing, Ethan is the VP of Growth and Franchise Development for Lime Fresh Mexican Grill where he is focused on franchise sales and building their brand.  Ethan comes to us with a wealth of experience in business management and development and hopes to lend his skills to help us manage our budgets and grow the F4SA in new ways.
